"But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world." -1 Peter 5.9
When it comes to the enemy, preparing for battle, identifying the enemy, and knowing his tactics is only the beginning. The enemy typically doesn't flee because we're ready for a fight, and he doesn't roll over and surrender because we know how he is going to proceed with his assault. The enemy is not afraid of humans, and on our own we are powerless against him. This is not a human we are facing, but a fallen angel that we battle against.
But resist him- Fight back, pick up your weapons and go to war against the devil.
firm in your faith- Draw strength and endurance from God.
Knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world- You are not the only one who is under attack, don't give into self-pity.
There is a real enemy, and that means we are in a real fight. When we face the enemy we actually have to be armed and ready because we're in for a war. The enemy has one goal, steal, kill, and destroy (John 10.10); he is ruthless and after as many casualties as he can rack up. This is not going to be easy, but victory is assured.
Fight the lion, 1 Peter 5.1-11
TO GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY!
